WEATHER
Rwanda has a pleasant tropical highland climate due to its location just south of the Equator and the fact that most of the world is at altitude.
The temperature varies a lot between places, but not much from month to month.
Peak daytime temperatures seldom reach 30°C (86°F), and nighttime lows rarely fall below 15°C (59°F). The Virunga Mountains are generally the coolest, though Akagera is usually the warmest.
Kigali’s average daily temperature is 21°C (70°F).
From mid-February to May and from mid-September to mid-December, there are two rainy seasons.
Light cloud cover and intermittent light rainfall characterize the dry season, which lasts from June to mid-September. During this time, roads and pathways are generally easier to walk.
